His paws trod on the frozen ground, it was times like this that Milo wished he was at home with his mother. He was just cold and lonely, had been ever since winter set in. It had to be one of the coldest winters that he had ever experianced, and that was not a good thing. If only he had someone to cuddle into, to keep him warm at night and to keep watch whilst he was foraging desperately for food. Milo's figure had slimmed down considerably since winter set in but it didn't bother him that much.
Milo's chocolate eyes scanned the horizon looking for the slightest sign of company, friend or foe. He didn't care which, either or would keep him occupied. The boredum was what he hated, the sole reason that he had left his family mob was for excitement and so far on his travels it looked like life as a lone male was dire..why had no one told him this before? He perked his auds, was that a noise he heard? A rustle in the bushes maybe? Or just a figment of his imagination..he would soon find out which one it was.

Well the male wasn't alone that day, the skinny and very odd looking female meerkat stood on her hind legs looking out over the frozen grass. She had spotted the male not too long ago, he didn't see readily aggressive, perhaps she could make a friend? Dropping down to all fours she move forward keeping her tail low behind her so she didn't give her self away to the male too early. Pushing the frozen grass aside she peeked out at the male with those hazel colored eyes, curiosity was plastered on that face of hers.
Twitching her whiskers, she stepped out and stood on those back legs watching him if not rather intently right then, she stayed like this for perhaps over a minute it was hard to tell how long, then again who was counting? Dropping to all fours again she groom her chest a bit, to help rid of the frosty flakes she had collected along her wandering in the frozen grass. For the moment she took her gaze off him, the chill of the winter getting to the poor thing but being on your own and having to fend for your self was no easy feat.
Occ// Shortish..xd.

His senses weren't gettin rusty were they? He hoped not, and indeed he still had it. Milo's eyes glanced towards where the sound had came from and movement caught his eyes. There was no hint of a breeze so it was someone, or something. He stood tall trying to get a better look, ah he wished he was taller but it couldn't be helped. It was something white, well it looked it anyway. Milo shook his coat to puff it up a bit, he was unsure as to whether the meer was male or female. Personally he hoped it was a female, which male wouldn't?
He inched forwards, just a few paw steps. He didn't want to get to close to the unknown meer but he got a wiff of her scent. It was a female. Lucky him! "I almost didn't see you there, what an unusual coat you have. Hi i'm Milo and you are?" Okay so not the smoothest of introductions but it was the first thing that had come to his mind. After all the places he had been he hadn't seen a meer with her almost white fur. He sat on his hind legs, gromming his chest as he waited to see how she would react to him, he had to look good didn't he, first appearances count.

Well Aliya could very well tell what his gender was, then again it wasn't that hard to spot. Then again she had been doing such for awhile and seen a few here and there but not very often, twitching her whiskers once more she looked up as he got closer. So he had gathered that courage finally, at lest he wasn't threatening or aggressive towards her, perhaps she'd have a sleeping partner that night.
She blinked and let him speak. "Yes, I know. My coat is..rather odd." She remarked, but hearing him go on.."I'm Aliya, nice to meet you Milo." She said, shuffling a bit where she sat but she soon stood again. The ground was cold, as it was frozen it wasn't very comfortable to sit on. Looking around she kept an eye out for those feathered enemies of theirs, she had sen one on the way there but it seemed to have went els where in search of food. Speaking of food, her stomach growled..when had she last ate? A few days ago perhaps, she didn't remember and that was when she knew it was time for foraging but doing it without a look out was dangerous.

Milo wasn't what you would call a smooth talker, not by far...he never had been and doubted that he ever would be. His orbs watched her, she seemed willing to speak to him. Atleast she hadn't rejected him or turned away but then again why would she? Any company was better than none in this weather. He chuckled at her response, it must have been one that she was so used to hearing and by the sound of her remark one that she tactically knew how to down play. "Sorry pointing out the obvious seems to be one of my strong points." He smiled appologetically towards her and glanced towards the skies to check.
It looked like no predator was going to cut their first meeting short, saying that he hoped this wouldn't be the only time that they met. "Maybe we should move so we aren't so out in the open?" Milo spoke and only once the words had left his maw did he realise what it may have sounded like he was suggesting and automatically went to correct it, " I never mean it like that, unless you want to I mean...Its cold out here isn't it?" Que the awkward silence..embarressing, he needed to learn how to engage his brain with his mouth. At times he wondered if he even had one with the stuff that he came out with.

Aliya smiled and nodded a bit, well she knew he wasn't the first nor the last that would state the obvious about her. But she didn't go after him due to the simple mistake. "I tend to get that a lot, no worries." She replied, fidgeting a she stood there rather transferring weight onto a different paw at different times. It helped her feet from getting numb of too frozen simply, it made her look odd perhaps but it was a useful tactic right then. Noticing his eyes turning skyward as her own had done so not too long ago, bu she knew they always had to keep an eye out for a predator other wise they'd be picked off and easily..
But hearing him she blinked and nodded, titling her had as her corrected him self. "It's alright, but I agree we should get out of the open and perhaps find a meal as well."She said and suggested as it was, he looked fairly skinny him self. Finding a burrow and well oddly enough snuggling together sounded ideal in that cold weather right then, aside from filling her stomach as well.

He was glad that she didn't mind him commenting on it, the last thing that Milo ever wanted to do was to cause offense. Milo hated to cause anyone harm, whether physically or mentally and that counted for any other emotion such as embarressment which is why he had hastily corrected what he had said when it could have sounded like it was implying something totally different. His eyes noticed her tilting her head whilst he corrected himself, it was kind of cute. It was just one of those things that females did that would always look cute because she was doing it. I really doubt that it worked the other way around.
"Yeah erm..I think that there is a place not far from here that had a good selection, good for this weather that is, food. Anything to fill the hole." His mind drifted back to yesterday morning and he thought about how little he had travelled since then, he blamed the weather but deep down it was more lilely to be that he wanted to stay close to the only sort of food source that was near and he didn't want to leave it incase another rover came along. " Have you been around in these parts for long?" Small talk, Milo's usual approach to ending the awkward omg i just met you first moments of your time with some new.

Aliya giggled a bit. "To fill the hole, eh?" She asked, teasing him a bit, why not have some fun? Though she nodded.."Well, lead the way." She said smiling. But hearing his question. "No, I have not in fact this is my first time here." She replied, knowing she was running on and on about stuff, but she was answering him at lest. He likely found her quite the chatter box about now, not that she minded quite a few found her that way rather. But she tended to ignore them once they told her to shut her maw or els and so on.
Occ// Very short xD.

"Erm..ah..oh." How stupid he must look right now, a proper weirdo. Shame that he hadn't realised how that could have been interperated, it seemed like he was going to have to be careful around Aliya. In the way of hidden meanings behind his word, he could feel the heat coming to his cheeks, thank god his fur would sheild most of his blush from her eyes. "Its not that far.." He said pretty much to himself, and now he was repeating himself, he wondered how dim he was looking. He began to lead the way, not too fast but not at the rate that fossils formed either.
"Ahh same, according to my mother this is where my father is supposed to be but it would appear thats not the case. So did you travel far?" Milo was a very curious meerkat, and why not. If you are going to be spending time with someone then you need to know the basics right? He spotted the water trough in the distance and turned right in the direction of the bushes which was near to a small tree which offered them some cover. Not from the sun, but from predators, he was never going to hide from the sun after this winter.

Aliya giggled once hearing him, he sounded odd and funny. But she didn't scold him for that, why would she? Moving forward she gave his cheek a brief nuzzle. "Try to relax, no need to be so worried over making simple mistakes." She said with a wink, but she followed him once he said it wasn't far off, that she was glad of indeed. Padding along she flexed those claws toes of her, damn why did it have to be so so damned cold?
Though hearing his question she smiled. "That I did, I came from the low lands, or simply the southern part. How about you?" She questioned curiously, but she followed him as he changed his direction to under a tree. She relaxed a bit, it was some shelter from the predators' but it was better then nothing. Looking around she wondered what they could find here to eat.

"Try to relax, no need to be so worried over making simple mistakes". Where had he heard that before? In short his mother had always told him to ignore the others when they told him to 'man' up and basically stop being so anxious to please all the time, but that was who he was so how could he stop it? Milo would try to tone it down but then it always happened when he least expected it and thats why he got embarressed so easily. When she nuzzled him he felt a smile creep onto his face and tried to hide it by looking around for any threats. So he was slightly shy and nervous of sorts, that could be classed as cute could it not?
"Quite a bit away, further than you but then again I have been roaming for about a year or so. The ground isn't so hard here but it isn't exactly soft either." He spoke to her as they walked and once they came to the tree he indicated near the base of the trunk, he suspected that it was softer for some reason or other. Milo was sure that there was a reason but at this present moment couldn't remember it precisely. His bottom got plonked onto the ground underneath the tree, far enough under to not attract any attention from air predators but far enough out so he could keep a look out. "Its quite unsual for females to leave their mobs unless evicted and you appear not to have any scars..why did you leave?" It was a valid question, only males volountarily left.

Well if little Aliya had sounded like his mother, she hadn't tried to. Far from it, knowing she would get irradiated and bothered if someone started sounding like her nagging mother. She tried to avoid it, but some times it crept on her, such as just then. Realizing what she said she hesitated on saying something but took a chance and said nothing of her remark.Once under the tree comfortably, she soon was at the base using that sense of smell. She found a spot and began digging right away, being fairly hungry the first thing on her list was a meal, although his company was nice her body was quite demanding substance.
Pulling her head out of the hole, surprisingly she brought out a rather large toad with her. It maybe winter but it was a good time to find frogs and hibernating toads as well, though she knew with whatever little rain did happen they became quite active. Setting it down between her paws."I left by choice, the Mob was getting too large and I was tired of being bullied by the other members of the Mob. So one day when forging I decided to leave." She answered lightly before she started on the toad, watching him a bit knowing he likely he yet another question for her.

Milo didn't mind in the slightest if she sounded like his mother, he really didn't mind what people said any more. He had developed a thick skin after everything that was said pretty much everyday, you could say that he too had been bullied. Not that Milo would ever like to openly admit that, males were meant to be strong so him coming out with that would make seem like a bit ot a wuss. His orbs glanced between Aliya and the skies, he was partly interested to see what she managed to get but didn't want none for himself. He had, hd something to eath this morning before he'd started on his travels.
A female leaving by choice was very very rare indeed and he watched her closely as he awaited her answer to his question, and when she answered it sort of made sense. The bullying was a valid reason to leave, fair enough but in a big mob it could have been possible to find others to mingle with instead. Oh well it was nothing to do with him, not really, just because his mob hadn't been big. Infact it was quite a small mob but they had kept him alive and kicking. That was all that mattered to him and rightly so. "Ah I see, but don't you miss your family or parents?" He was becoming more and more comfortable by the minute and it was abovious by his body language and how he was speaking, not caring about what he said no more.
